Welcome to Motivational Monday where I dropped those knowledge bombs to get you inspired to live your best life. So have you heard of a growth mindset? This concept changed my life when I read about it back in college. So a growth mindset is a mindset in which you take a challenge and you realize you can grow from it. It doesn’t make you who you are,

you’re not defined by that. It’s the belief that intelligence and success can be changed and altered through hard work and preservation. This is in contrast to a fixed mindset where everything is just stuck. You can’t move, you can’t grow. I can’t do it because I’m not smart. I can’t do this cuz I am not successful. It is a black and white mindset and it restricts who you can be.

You can’t change a person because they are fixed in that particular set. And a growth mindset has been shown to be the most important predictor for success in life. And for me, that has been the case. When I change my mindset from a fixed mindset where this is who I am, I can’t change it, I can’t make anything better to a growth mindset where I realize this doesn’t define me.

I am not a dumb person. I just have to make a dumb mistake. That totally revamped my mind, my perspective and my goals. And people with a growth mindset are more likely to take on a challenging task, get through that task, overcome failure, and believe that their effort can lead to improvement. This sound great to you? It did for me Here.

Five ways you can develop your own growth mindset. Number one, learn from your mistakes. Now it’s not just learning, oh, I made a mistake. It’s learning that you can grow from your mistakes. Your mistakes don’t define you. When you make a mistake, use that time to reflect upon that mistake and see what jesuses you can make. Cuz you can grow beyond where you were right then and there.

Number two, embrace those challenges with a growth mindset. You use those challenges as a way to improve who you are. You know you can overcome those challenges because you’ve done it before. And view these challenges as an opportunity to grow and to learn. Even if you fail. The growth mindset doesn’t have you as a failure, but you failed in this one instance and you could learn from it.

Number three, be persistent. Give me up too easy and too early is one of the more common mistakes people make on the road to failure. When you encounter our setback, it’s important to dust that off, get that dirt off your shoulder, get back up and succeed and go through this tenacity will allow you to grow, to move beyond where you are right now.

Number four, seek out feedback. Feedback is essential for you to realize how you are and what you can be, but it can be hard to hear the criticism. I know for me, I hate hearing feedback when I get feedback from my patients, it’s bad. Ah, it makes me embarrassed when I get bad feedback from my colleagues. Ah, there’s nothing worse.

But with that growth mindset, use that feedback as a way to change and to improve. It doesn’t define who you are, which is what that fix mindset does. Use that feedback to get better. I love getting feedback now. I crave feedback. I get feedback from everybody, from my kids, my wife, my patients, my colleagues. Anything that I can do to get feedback,

I use that cause I know I can use that as a way to grow who I am and to become a better person. Lasting, learn. It’s okay to make a mistake. A mistake doesn’t define you. When you have that fixed mindset, you are defined that mistake. I failed. I couldn’t pass my test. I’m not smart enough. No,

no, no, no, no. Use that mistake and re-challenge that. I failed this test this time because I didn’t study hard enough and so I know what to do next time. I’m not a failure. I failed at this one thing. So use this as a way to change your perspective, to grow and to get better. I am telling you,

having a growth mindset is the key for success. It is the key for my success. It’s what I try to teach my students and my kids. If you want to achieve any success in life, it is imperative that you take on this growth mindset. By doing so, you can overcome obstacles, get over failures, get over rejection. And I will tell you,

your life will be in a much better place. Now don’t forget to like, share and subscribe to this channel. If you want more videos like you’re watching in today’s video.
