So my girl Beyonce, did the master cleanse diet. What is that? You know my girl, Beyonce, all single ladies, single. All the single ladies. All the single ladies, my girl Bay, she tried this side. It is a 10 day diet to help dec cleanse you, detoxify you, and to help you lose weight. And basically it’s a juice cleanse in which you drink nothing but lemon,
cayenne pepper and maple syrup. This weird concoction. It’s I, I don’t even know how you can drink all that. But the idea behind this was that by doing this cleanse, you can help clean everything out. Well, let me tell you, there is no scientific evidence. This is good for you. Now, certainly restricting your diet to just juicing and those three things,
yeah, you’re going to lose weight. Absolutely. If I date nothing but lemon, cayenne pepper and whatever, I’m going to lose weight. But guess what’s going to happen? It’s going to come back when I go back to a normal diet. You don’t need to cleanse yourself. You don’t need to try this. It’s not going to detox. You don’t do it.
There is no evidence for that. In fact, I am a huge opponent of diet, cleanses, detoxes. They simply don’t work. And unfortunately doing this long term can lead to both kidney and hard problems. So I don’t want you to have that problem. And I know you shouldn’t do this diet. Mariah Carey, oh my girl from the nineties,
she tried a Norwegian salmon and capers diet. What is this? Now, I’m not sure why the diet specifically has to be Norwegian salmon, but in an interview that Mariah Carey did in 2016, she admitted this diet was really hard. Now the, I think the idea behind this is that you want to have some sort of protein and fat that’s healthy for you.
And salmon certainly fits that bill. It is a great protein, but also has a significant amount of fat that’s in there as well. Now, the good thing about this diet is that you’re not adding other proteins that may not be the best thing for you. Specifically meat, beef, and pork, which we know has a lot of pro-inflammatory products in them.
And salmon is also good for you for a variety of symptoms. It’s not a meat-based protein. It has a lot of antioxidants in them and it’s plentiful. However, eating nothing but salmon and capers doesn’t give you the variety of nutritious foods that you need to have a healthy life to improve your gut microbiome and help you lose weight by limiting yourself to just these foods.
You are eliminating all the other great foods that are out there that I want you to enjoy, to have that taste really, really good. And here’s the thing is that if you keep on eating the same thing every single day, guess what? It’s going to suck. Yes, you’re going to eventually fall off the wagon and you’re going to cheat and you’re going to cheat like crazy.
I’ve done it When I try to do these diets, I have a lot of patience have done this as well. It is such a hard thing to do. So my advice is don’t try the Mariah Carey diet, holy adding fish. Absolutely, that’s great. Be add in their vegetables plants. Make it a variety so you don’t get bored. But also so you don’t eat the same thing.
You don’t limit what you are hoping to put in your body. Shaylee Woodley, divergent, she had a, wait, am I reading this right, clay? She had a clay diet. What the<unk> you heard, right? She eats clay every single day. She swallows half fat window clay if eight ounces of water every day. She says in the interview,
clay is one of the best things you can put in your body cuz we know Shayley Woodley is a doctor with a medical degree. We know this for sure. She states that it helps to bind other isotopes to remove all that negative energy in you. All right, I’m calling<unk> on this. Oh my goodness, this makes no medical sense whatsoever. There is literally no science of eating clay,
of having these isotopes going on in your body, being charged everywhere. And Clay grabbed me that on that makes literal no sense. You don’t need clay to bind up toxins to eliminate that. You don’t even need clay at all. Don’t do this. You’re not like a two year old kid eating Play-Doh. Come on Shaley Woodley, what are you talking about?
Now clay may have some trace elements that are good for you, things like iron and calcium, but guess what? Why don’t you have foods that have iron and calcium instead of eating clay? That literally makes no sense. If you are thinking about doing the clay diet, don’t do it. Don’t do it. Don’t freaking do it. It Next is Jessica Alba and she promoted the juice cleanse.
Now, if you are a celebrity, you know you’ve been cleansing. I’ve seen so many things on social media, on advertisement, on these celebrity cleanses to help detox and get rid of what’s going on inside your body. These cleanses are meant to flush everything out and reset your body back to normal again. Lemme give you the reel here on cleanses, whether it’s Jessica Albo or any cleanses.
Cleanses have no medical science behind them. They don’t work. There’s no benefit. You don’t need to cleanse your body. Guess what? Your body naturally cleanses. That is what taking a dump is. You don’t need a liver detox, you don’t need a body cleanse. It’s just hype where basically you’re drinking some substance has no benefit and it doesn’t cleanse your body.
Anybody who tries to give you a cleanse diet, guess what? It’s bogus. Number five, Tom Brady, my boy. My boy, yes. Tom Brady. Yes. The TB 12 diet. We’re basically, you’re eliminating everything that’s pro-inflammatory, no eggplant, no tomatoes, and drinking gallons and gallons of water. Okay, I’ll admit, I bought the TD 12 book because I was interested,
I was curious about the ep, the evidence behind Tom Brady’s longevity, what he did, what methods did he use Now as a part of his 12 step plan to live great and to play football too, like your a hundred, he eliminated a lot of foods that he thought were pro-inflammatory to his eye, whether it’s night shades or foods like that, that are thought to change the acidic balance of your body,
making it become higher and producing inflammation. So these include foods like eggplant and tomatoes. Now, a lot of people have this idea that nightshades are not good for you or a change in the acidity of your body. Lemme tell you straight, there is no evidence for that. Your body does a remarkable job of keeping everything balanced. Your body does not want to be outta balance when it comes to acidity and it’s constantly changing things internally to make you have the same acidity and even microscopic changes of acidity will cause significant problems in your body.
So your body does not want to cause that. And nightshades don’t change the acidity of your body enough for it to cause any long-term problems. There’s no evidence at all for this. And we have plenty of scientific evidence that eating these foods will make no difference at all to the pH of your body. In fact, these foods are good for you. They’re packed with antioxidants,
vitamins, minerals, nutrients that your body needs to be nutritious and to have a healthy microbiome. And in fact, certain vitamins like vitamin A and vitamin C, which are in ni shades, actually are antiinflammatory, which goes directly against a TB 12 diet. Tom Brady also states ther’s multiple gallons of water to protect from sunburn. All right, I I,
I’m, I’m okay. I love drinking water. It’s great for you, but you literally cannot protect yourself from a sunburn by drinking gallons of water. Like I don’t even understand how that makes sense. I don’t even understand how that’s logical. There’s no way you can do that. So if you wanna drink water, oh yeah, do it. That’s fine.
But don’t think that you’re protecting yourself from a sunburn. You still needed to protect yourself, having sunblock being the shade so you don’t get skin cancer. I love Tom Brady, but Tom, come on man. All right. Now we had some strange sides we just talked about. Beyonce’s, Mariah Carey, Tom Brady. Now if you’re wondering what is the best thing that you can do today to lose weight,
here’s what I recommend. Number one, you need to have a plant centric diet. Yes you do. Yes you do. The more plants and vegetables you have, the better it’s gonna be for your diet. It takes up room, it’s low. Caloric intake is nutritious. It’ll help you lose weight. Number two, you need to eliminate processed food,
fast food and sugary foods. These are empty calories that tastes really good, that makes you want to have more that don’t have a lot of nutritional value. Doesn’t keep you full, but take up a lot of calories in you. So don’t eat these foods, minimize them, or at least eliminate. Number three, try to minimize the amount of empty carbohydrates.
You know what I mean? Things like donuts, pastas, pop tarts. These are sugary carbohydrates. They’re not good for you. You wanna have whole grains, brown rice, quinoa, good carbohydrates that can make you feel fuller so you don’t get as hungry. Label number four, you actually need to get plenty of sleep. And so we have seen that sleep deprivation can actually cause you to gain more weight.
It increases the stress hormones, which cause you to deposit more fat and it can turn, can minimize the amount of weight that you’re hoping to lose. Then lastly, number five, keep track of what you’re eating. Everything that goes in your mouth needs to be accounted for. Your body does not live. And this is the more common reason why people don’t lose the weight that they’re want to lose.
They say, Hey Dr. Islam, I can tell you I am only eating maybe 1000 calories per day. But you have them track every single thing that they put in their mouth. It tends to be way over of what they are estimating. We commonly underestimate the food that we’re intaking, and this in turn will cause you to have problems losing weight.
So here’s my call to Ashton to you. Are you on some crazy celebrity diet? If you are, stop it now. Introduce my recommendations to help you lose weight.
